Find us at our Phra Ae beach office, located at the Lanta Castaway Beach Resort in Phra Ae village, at the southern end of Long Beach, opposite Opium Bar. We are approximately 6km south of Saladan village.

Phrae Ae village (Baan Phra Ae) is a thriving small community at the southern end of Long Beach. Here you will find Dive & Relax (Castaway Resort), and also shops, bars and many local Thai and international restaurants. There is a 7-Eleven, a Pharmacy, several local convenience stores, noodle shops, a pizzeria, several ATMs, and two medical clinics (both with full-time doctors on staff), yoga classes, internet cafes and so much more.

In addition, you can also book trips and tours around the islands, rent a motorbike, do your laundry (or have someone do it for you!), get a tattoo, arrange elephant treking, drink a cocktail at a beach bar, indulge in a traditional Thai massage, get a hair-cut or even buy a holiday apartment on the wonderful island of Koh Lanta...

Koh Lanta is well connected to Phi Phi, Krabi (Ao Nang), Phuket and Koh Lipeh by ferry. Ferries usually run twice a day throughout high season, and less frequently in low season. During low season there are no ferries to Koh Lipeh. A direct ferry and a fast speedboat service from Koh Lanta to Koh Lipeh runs from November to April, connecting Koh Lanta to the Tarutao National Park, with further ferry and speedboat connections available to Langkawi in Malaysia, just a short distance to the south.

Mini-van to Koh Lanta

Thailand is well served by private mini-van operators and both private taxis and air-conditioned shared mini-vans can be booked at any transport hub such as an airport, train or public bus station, most hotels and the many travel/tour agencies in almost every town throughout Thailand. During peak season, it is wise to book transport a day or so in advance, as these services are very popular with tourists and can get busy.

There are hourly mini-van services to and from Koh Lanta to Krabi, Trang and Phuket all year round, and an excellent public (government) mini-van service which also runs from Koh Lanta to Phuket from November to May.

Journey times from Krabi and Trang to Koh Lanta are around 2.5 hours, including the two car ferries, and from Phuket around 5 hours.

Connecting services in Krabi and Trang allow you to journey onwards to Hat Yai, Satun, Koh Lipeh and Malaysia in the south, and Surathani, Chumphon, Koh Tao, Koh Samui, Bangkok and many more to the north.

Flying to Krabi and Phuket International Airports

Koh Lanta is situated south of Krabi town, and only 70km from Krabi International Airport. We are also close to Phuket International Airport, and air-conditioned mini-van transfers can be easily arranged from both airports to Koh Lanta.

Krabi International Airport connects Koh Lanta to the rest of Asia-Pacific with flights to Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok and beyond with Air Asia, Tiger Airways and Thai Air. You can fly into Thailand from almost anywhere in the world via Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, which means that you can avoid Bangkok if you wish.

Phuket International Airport is the second busiest airport in Thailand and directly connects Southern Thailand to the rest of the world, with flights to Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, central and northern Europe, Canada, the United States and many more.
