Dive & Relax on our 11m (35ft) Private Speedboat, 'Saya'

We value the comfort of our guests and for that reason, we have customised our speedboat for maximum safety and fun.

'Saya', our 11m (35ft) fibreglass speedboat has a beam of 3m (10ft) and is powered by twin V6 200hp Yamaha outboard engines, giving it a cruising speed of around 40 knots (75 kph).

With comfortable seating, purpose built tank racks, on-board toilet and a fresh water shower, we limit the number of divers on board to a maximum of 12 per day, ensuring that you will never experience that feeling of overcrowding often encountered on larger dive boats.

Beach Departure

Unlike other dive centres on Koh Lanta, we can bring our speedboat up onto the beach in the morning, right outside your resort. This means no early morning transfers to the main pier by road, extra time to relax in bed, and a beach drop-off when we return in the afternoon.

This combination of fast boat and beach pick-up means less travel time to and from the dive sites, usually saving between 3 and 6 travel hours per day! This gives you more time to relax and enjoy your valuable, well-earned holiday time...

Safety

We take the safety of our guests and staff very seriously.

Whenever our speedboat puts to sea, we always ensure that we carry a fully stocked Medical Kit, Medical Oxygen Equipment, Life Jackets for everyone on board, GPS, Fire Extinguisher, VHF Marine Band Radio and Mobile Phones. In addition, all our dive staff and our boat crew are fully trained in Emergency First Aid, CPR and Oxygen Administration.

To further increase safety, there are five separate chambers below the deck, each connected to a high capacity water pump to help prevent/delay sinking.

Hyperbaric Chamber

The Badalveda Diving Medicine Network is affiliated with the Bangkok Hospital Group, the largest international hospital network in Thailand.

All hyperbaric chambers are located inside the hospital. This means injured divers are able to receive a higher standard of care. The Bangkok Phuket hospital also has a 24 hour ambulance service stationed in nearby Krabi Town.

In the very unlikely event that a serious accident occurs, we can arrange air-evacuation from Koh Lanta to Phuket by air-ambulance (both helicopter and light aircraft are available), with a journey time of only 10 minutes direct to the international hospital.

Dive & Relax is also affiliated with the SSS Recompression Chamber Network in Krabi, providing 24 hour access to professional diver medical services and emergency transport to a hyperbaric chamber.

When your travel insurance does not cover Recreational Scuba Diving, we offer Dive Accident Insurance with 100% cover & world wide protection for only 150 Thai Baht per day.

Dive Equipment

We use Aqualung BCDs and regulators, all of which are maintained and checked regularly. Equipment rental is included free on all PADI courses. For certified divers, our dive team will prepare your equipment on the boat and take care of the washing afterwards. You only have to touch your equipment when diving.

Get picked up in style from your resort each morning! Book any Multi-Day Diving Package online, and where possible, we will send our speedboat to your resort in the morning to pick you up from the beach, returning you by speedboat directly to your resort again in the afternoon, completely free of charge. If you plan to stay at a resort on Long Beach (Phra Ae), Klong Dao beach, or Kaw Kwang beach then please ask us about our free speedboat transfers.

All dive sites are between 30 and 60 minutes journey time on our private speedboat, which means you can sleep late and enjoy a 9am beach departure and an early afternoon return to Koh Lanta with plenty of time to relax on the beach, or prepare your hammock for one of the spectacular sunsets here on Koh Lanta.

Dive & Relax PADI Resort offers PADI Scuba diving courses for both beginners and experienced divers. For beginners, we offer a one-day, 2 dive Discover Scuba Diving experience, and for those wanting an internationally recognised scuba diving qualification, we offer the 3 to 4 day PADI Open Water Diver course. Of course, we also offer PADI Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver and Divemaster courses.

The diving and snorkeling sites around Koh Lanta provide an outstanding habitat for over 200 different coral species and over 400 fish species. With everything from turtles, sharks, and schools of giant trevally cruising the reefs, to coral groupers, trumpet fish, angel fish, butterfly fish, schools of snapper, lion fish, damsel fish, blennies, clown fish, seahorses, nudibranchs, ghost pipe fish and many more.
